Learn to Doubt Your Doubts

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:5)

Doubt, at it’s worst, is the opposite of faith.

The devil preaches sermons of doubt, but it’s our responsibility to deal with them correctly.
We trust the bridges we drive over daily, but we still sometimes hesitate to fully trust our lives in the hands of God.

Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. (Matthew 21:21)

It’s vital that we practice taking our thoughts captive.  When we don’t do this, we end up falling into the everyday stress, worries and struggles of the world.

It really is time that we stop doubting God and start doubting the doubt itself.  It’s time that we allow our doubts to become stepping stones towards spiritual growth.

Our doubts are as empty as the tomb that Jesus walked away from.
They lose their grip on us as we begin trusting in God.  If we don’t trust, this can cause unneeded worry which in time erodes our faith.

Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. (Proverbs 3:5)

Personally, I sometimes end up thinking myself into a rut where I don’t even belong.  If I was truly trusting in God, that wouldn’t happened.

Doubt seriously hinders God’s ability to answer our prayers.
Faith builds trust which protects us from doubt.

But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. (James 1:6)

We have to consciously decide to have faith in our heavenly father, and not in our doubt.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)

Begin building a deep, emotional connection with God.  A love beyond anything else.  When you’re with Him, the whole world disappears.

Talk to Him right now and re-connect with Him.  If you don’t know what to say, just begin thanking Him for everything that He’s done for you and everything around you.  Ask Him for guidance and help in overcoming doubts and fears.  Ask Him to direct you down the path He’s already decided for you.
