This lesson proposes a question, and the question is a valid one. How can a person be held accountable for conducting their life according to God’s mandates if the definition of the word in question isn’t clear? What indeed is Holiness? Let’s endeavor to find out.

Allow me to bring forth a concept, so simple it is that many may not even recognize it. This is the relationship between skin, sin, and Him. I’m certainly not trying to say that He has any direct relationship with sin as He was, is, and always will be sinless,
(“God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 and “He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in His mouth” 1 Peter 2:22 and “Everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.” 1 John 3:3) but we obviously do and we have a relationship with Him, hence the title.

Lord, Lord, as long as it doesn’t hurt me I’ll follow You! That’s how many of us act today, but:
Matt. 16:24 Then Jesus said, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life shall lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.” Jesus repeated Himself in Mark 8:34, & 35 as well as Luke 14:27. Wait a minute, that sounds hard to me, doesn’t it sound tough to you too? Sounds like it will take some effort on our behalf as well, doesn’t it?
