Final Thoughts for 2018

Having preached about the coming year on Sunday, a few final thoughts for 2018:

As believers we’ve basically lost our jobs serving satan and now serve God because of the saving mercy and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. And as with any job, to be promoted, we must be dedicated, diligent, and committed in order to be rise in the ranks. Many believers have been promoted in their jobs because we work at our jobs as unto the Lord but the question I have is, if we’re to be promoted in God’s kingdom, if God is to do mighty works through us, wouldn’t we have to also be as dedicated. diligent and committed as well? We get up early, sacrifice, work long hours to be promoted at our jobs, do we do the same in serving God? Many believers find it difficult to get to church more than once a week, spend little or almost no time in prayer, have trouble staying awake at church but if we treated our jobs that way, would we even have a job? These thoughts are in no way meant to be condemning, but rather a reminder that as 2018 gets behind us, can we, like Paul, “forget the past & look forward to what lies ahead”! There is therefore now no condemnation if we’re in Christ but we can sure hit the reset! Will anyone decide to enter the New Year with a new attitude? Many of the things we seek after so diligently are promised if we’ll only seek God’s kingdom and service first! I’m praying that all of my friends and family have a blessed, healthy, joy filled and prosperous 2019 and beyond! Let’s make our service to Christ be our priority in 2019 and His will be done in our lives as 2019 becomes our best year yet!
